The future

Today as I was looking in the mirror at my hair looking for white hairs to pull out, I began thinking about the purpose of this blog. I originally started this blog as a way to show my genius thoughts to the world. And then I bought the canon 35mm 1.4 L and this blog quickly turned into a way for me to share my photography.

And then I got a job at KTB and instantly this turned into a wedding blog.

For some reason this blog has developed to be very one sided. I post pictures and a few people look at them, but I don't want it to be like that. For some reason people feel like they can't ask questions, it's almost as if they want to but their mind blocks them with that poster for megamind.

I want this blog to be more interactive. For my few and loyal readers out there, if you have any questions about how I took a show, the exposure, the editing, the gear I'm using, feel free to leave a question in the comments section and I'll answer it.

Also I would love to do a workshop sometime to teach anyone who wants to learn photography, from the basics of camera function up to advanced editing techniques. KTB does workshops too but you have to pay for those (although the teacher much better). But at least mine are free haha.

Also for anyone interested in photography (ahem, deborah) here's a couple videos going over the basics of lenses and their functions, and why so many different kinds of lenses are necessary. It's done by one my favorite photographers vincent laforet.

Alright enough of me talking, lets see some pictures. I know a lot of people who are discouraged from taking pictures because they feel like they don't have "adequate gear". I think that's a ton of crap. Gizmodo (tech blog) has a photo contest every week and the winners are usually people with very entry level cameras with kit lenses. I frequently use canon rebels because I love how capable they are, even though they're not professional cameras.

These pictures are pretty old, but I'm putting them up because I took them with my old 40d (you can find them on craigslist for like 500 bucks) and the kit lens (which you can find on craigslist for like 200)

These pictures were taken at the san diego wildlife park. I would love to go back there.

The lion butt in the back is the best photo bomb I have ever seen.

Probably one of my favorite pictures ever. I would love to photoshop some velociraptors in there. Can anyone do that for me?

Also one of my favorite pictures. The sky in the back looks like a backdrop. It reminds me of the end of the movie the truman show where Jim Carrey sails into the fake sky.

I love the texture of this picture. The rocks and the elephant trunk.

Well this is the last update for a while. I'm going to be out of the country and I'm not sure if I'm going to have internet where I'm going (my sister won't let me say where I'm going because she's afraid the US govt will fine us) If I do get internet and a chance to update I will.

special thanks to ivan chen cause he's an actual photographer and he actually reads this nonsense. Here's a link to his blog. Go support him!

Farewell capitalists!
